He believed that the outcome of this meeting would be important for ASEAN to reach a drug-free Community. It was regarded as a mutual success of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly in preparation for keeping our region away from the harmful drugs and hoped that the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) would be able to extend other forms of cooperation between parliaments to fight with non-traditional security threats in the near future.
The Year 2019 is regarded as a year of cooperation between parliaments for sustainability. After this, the Thai Parliament will be the host to connect the ASEAN leaders with the representatives of ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) during the ASEAN Summit in June, and AIPA General Assembly Meeting in August. It was hoped that Thailand would welcome all of you on the occasion of both meetings.
